October Horror Block...

OMG!! I cannot believe a month has passed and I never posted about October Horror Block. I got my box for November yesterday and when I went to add the pics for this month from my camera I was like on shit LOL. Anyway I am gonna get this post up but then later tonight I will show off the amazingness that was this month as well.

Ok so we are gonna knock this out real quick like...

The first item in this box is defiantly my favorite this month. My bro and I have this long running who is better between Freddy and Jason so I had rock this amazing shirt for him...

 Alright so I went a little high school goth on this day but damn it was fun...

 Next item I was happy and disappointed in. You see my blu ray player is the devil and doesnt play about half the blu rays I get. It was nice to see a blu ray in a box but I cant play it. That said I love the movie and I do already own it on dvd.

This next thing is super fun but I have no idea if I will ever do anything with it. They sent a build your own zombie kit. It is basically a jar with 4 colors of clay for you to design a zombie. It is really cool but it may just sit on the back of the shelf for ages.

 To my surprise this month they switched things up a bit and instead of getting Rue Mourge Magazine they sent the most recent issue of Fangoria. I so could not be happier about this. While I like Rue Mourge Fangoria has always been my go to horror mag!!

Now while this is an item I have received before from Box Of Dread in the past I was super stoked to see the box of "Cereal Killers" trading cards. I love the tounge in cheek aspect of these cards and they always make me laugh.

Finally the last item in this month's box was the Jason Vorhees reaction figure. I seriously love it but a little part of me was sad cause I wanna get my hands on the Pinhead reaction more LOL.

 So that is it for the October Horror Block. I am sorry it was late this month LOL. I will get the November block posted a little later today and you are gonna die at some of the items!!

September Horror Block

Greeting boys and Ghouls! So this month I am trying to keep somewhat on track blogging wise and I wanted to go ahead and get this month's Horror Block posted. Now since the box ships on the 25th of each month Horror Block took the initiative to go ahead and make this month's box all about Halloween so everyone would get the box before the holiday. Great planning on their part. Hopefully we still get some halloween goodies next month too but after seeing this box I know why they choose to do things this way. This months box had some really "killer items"!!

Let's start off with the "Halloween" Items shall we?

 

Ok so basically I got a full "simple" halloween costume!! How freakin awesome is the Iron Maiden Eddie mask!! I dunno what I am gonna do but I am gonna find some way to display him! This is not just a cheapie mask either! It is a nice latex full head mask. The shirt is made to match the mask. Upon checking around I found the set goes from approximately $79.95!! Now like others I was really hoping for some Freddy stuff but being a metal head I thought this was a pretty awesome thing to find in my box. There was also a pack of temporary tats that were scars and wounds. Pretty standard for a halloween horror box but still pretty cool.

Also as you can see this is not the usual Rue Morgue we get every month. This Horror Movie Heroes edition features all sorts of interviews and sure for Directors, Producers, Writers and more in the horror genre. Dunno about you but I found this quite intriguing.  

Seriously...How freakin amazing is this shirt!! I love IT! As most of you know I am quite obsessed with carnival and amusement items as well so I love the design is something like and old carni banner! 

So yea...this month Horror Block nailed it! Still hoping for more Halloween goodies this month as well but in the meantime keep up the awesome job!!

August Horror Block

Ok so my slacking ass didnt get this posted yesterday even though I said I was going to. Guess I just lost track of time and before I knew it I had friends here for a BBQ. But since I stayed home sick from work today (Felt all kinds of fucked this morning...Hopefully I feel better soon cause the Not So Scary Halloween Party is next week!) I got time to get this posted today.

 

 

So let's start with the smaller items first....

As always there is a copy of this months Rue Morgue...

 Next item is kinda cool...Check out this Tales From The Crypt Comic. Total nostalgic moment for me...

Here we have a totally cool bone pen. Seriously love it cause it reminds me of my favorite werewolf film...

Yep....remember this in Ginger Snaps....I obsessed over it when the movie came out...

 Ok so after totally geeking out over my bone pen back to the box...

We have a HUGE (7+ inch) Zombie decal....

 Then this months shirt. Now usually I woulda been kinda disappointed getting something from Alien I kinda jumped for joy when I saw this tribute to one of the best horror artists to ever live...

 So yea...I admit it....Alien was def not my favorite film. HOWEVER... The xenomorph is a stunning representation of Giger's best known work. If for some reason you don't know what I am talking about do your self a favor and look up his work! Find his website here:

Finally the "big" item in this months box. Now we are all used to and somewhat expecting a POP! vinyl or something so this was pretty cool....

Instead we got a full size Cult Classics Jigsaw action figure! There is even a tiny clown puppet and tricycle in the package.

Horror Block July

Ok so I know I am waaaayyyy slacking but due to moving recently I have not had any time to make these posts. Finally I have a chance to sit down and show off. So without further ado here is the Horror Black from July...

 Now this is probably my favorite Horror Black to date even including the August Box (Which I will post shortly LOL)

First off is the amazing shirt!! I get the girly version. 

 How awesome is that!! From before Vampires sparkled!! I love that it is just a subtle nod to the movie too so only true fans will really recognize it.

As usual there is a copy of this month's Rue Morgue magazine. And really!!! Freakin awesome cover!! The article is pretty awesome too!

And of course we have the obligatory Pop! figure...

Now I am not a big Sharnado (Or sharks in general) fan but this one is pretty cool. I like the translucency they added to the water.

And we also got a cool little voodoo doll keychain...

 Not sure if all boxes got the same one but mine was Unkind Kenneth and he is supposed to be for lasting friendships.

Now my favorite item in the box...Most of you don't know I also have a hardcore Disney obsession so I was pretty stoked to find this in my box. And it does still fit the darker theme of the box so no worries...

 Are you freakin kidding me!! I couldn't be happier to add Sally to my collection. Oddly instead of most packages like this she actually had to be assembled (It was just 3 little pieces to pop together.)

So that was it for July...Gonna get the post up for August shortly.

Nerd Block: Horror Block

Ok so when I heard Nerd Block was starting a new box called Horror Block I knew I had to sign up. Hell I signed up almost 3 months ago so I would get this June box LOL. This box is a little more expensive than Box Of Dread but value wise they are right on par. Where BOD includes shipping in the $20 fee Nerd Block does not. Horror Block is $19.99 plus shipping (Which varies depending on where you live.) Horror Block is based in Canada so our friends up north can order this box as well!! Also price can vary just slightly. Horror Block always includes a shirt and for the larger sizes there is a small upgrade fee. Personally I love Horror tees and usually ones in womens styles are hard to find so this was a HUGE selling point for me. Anyway on with the box...

First thing I notice is this is not just a plain package. Horror block has taken the time to customize the box. Not something at all that would affect my opinion but just saying the box was way cool...

First off one thing I knew was coming was the current issue of Rue Mourge magazine. Horror Block has partnered with them so you will get the current issue in each box. So if you are a current subscriber you might want to consider that before renewing your subscription...

Next are the little filler items...These were kinda cool for filler. I got a bloody soap...it looks normal but turns red when you wash with it. Also I got some little horror movie decals. They can go on my phone/tablet/etc.

Then there was a Mystery Mini from Funko. I really love getting these guys but I am worried I will end up with doubles if the box services keep sending them...

Let's see what we got...

Ok so not a double but my least favorite of the series. Not a real big fan of Scream but hey...the fun of these guys is not knowing :P

And we got a full size POP figure from the Funko Walking Dead Series. Bit disappointed in the one I got but she is still awful cool...

And finally the t shirt. As I said you are guaranteed a shirt each month but you don't know what it is til you get it. I chose to get the womens fitted shirts in my box.

 And OMG!!! HOWFUCKINGAWESOME!! The first shirt is of course one of my very favorite characters!! I feel like I read something saying to order a size up but I ordered my size and it fit perfect!!

Overall super stoked with this first box. Got a few things I could do with or without but honestly I woulda payed the full price for just the shirt!! Super happy. Not sure if I will get the box next month due to my move but I will subscribe again as soon as I am able too ;)

June Box Of Dread...

So unfortunately this is gonna be my last BOD post for a couple months. With getting ready to move I have to cancel my subscription for the time being. That said there was some kinda cool items in this months box but nothing I really would have rushed out to get. I joined BOD for the unique promo items and though there was one this month I am pretty sure it is not a rare item. So here is the box...

 First off there where 2 small Godzilla minis. Not really a huge Godzilla fan but they are kinda cool. Probably will open them up and stick em on my desk once we move...

Next they sent a couple Pacific Rim items. Now I have not seen this movie due to everyone telling me how bad it was but someday I may get around to it.

The dog tags on top are a nice heavy metal tag.

Next we got 2 little zombie treat/popcorn type boxes. These are kinda cool but not at all something I feel is worth my time or money...

My favorite item this month is a thermal mug from the new Showtime program Penny Dreadful...

Kinda a cool mug but not something rare. I am pretty sure you could buy these on the Showtime website if ya wanted one :P
